Lauren Leveque

To her work with Little Harbor Gardens, Lauren brings a professional background in horticulture and design, providing skilled garden design and care for private gardens on the upper Cape. Having worked for 15+ years as a garden designer with an award-winning landscape architecture firm, she has engaged in design work for a broad range of projects, including intimate gardens, large residential estates, and public projects. She enjoys building collaborative relationships with clients, skilled craftsmen, local contractors and growers to create distinctive outdoor spaces.

Lauren was raised on Cape Cod and has had a lifelong love of the Cape’s unique environment. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maine College of Art, where she focused on ecology and plant-related themes in her printmaking work. Lauren is interested in the overlap between the designed landscape and the natural environment.

Lauren, Josh and their three children live in Woods Hole, where they tend extensive gardens overlooking Little Harbor, raising a wide array of vegetables, flowers and herbs, and custom-growing a variety of specialty plants for their clients.

Josh Leveque

With a background in fine arts, horticulture and agriculture and a love of both designed and wild landscapes, Josh brings a unique perspective to his work with Little Harbor Gardens. He attended the Maine College of Art, with a focus on sculpture and ceramics, while also pursuing interests in horticulture and small-scale farming.

For Little Harbor Gardens, Josh focuses on plant selection and installation, skilled pruning and design work. Past projects have involved the redesign of selected garden areas to comprehensive landscape design for homes in sensitive coastal environments, involving collaboration with architects and civil engineers. Josh also enjoys consulting with clients on vegetable gardening and increasing the ecological value of their landscapes.

Today, Josh is also dedicated to his work at a local private day school, where he is a member of the buildings and grounds department and teaches elective courses such as beekeeping and woodworking.
